Arlene Bogan, 90, formerly State Center
Arlene Bogan, 90, died peacefully January 13, 2019, at Oakview Nursing home in Conrad. Arlene was born February 22, 1928 in State Center, Iowa, the daughter of Art and Idella (Gerke) Davis. She was a 1945 graduate of State Center High School. She was a graduate of Central Iowa Business College and worked as a secretary for Anderson and Hopper Coal and Feed Co. In 1946 she married L.W. (Bill) Bogan. For most of her life she was a mother, farm wife and homemaker. In later years she worked as a dietary aide at the Marshall County Home. Arlene was a life-long member of Trinity Lutheran Church and was active in Ladies Aide, Evening Circle and the Quilt Guild.
Survived by two sons: Neil Bogan of Ames, Bill (Denise) Bogan of Union, and a daughter LeAnn (Mike) Craft of La Porte City; a brother Darwin Davis of State Center, three sisters Bernice Thorn of Marshalltown, LaDonna Bakken of Lancaster, California, and Dorothy Sawyer of Allison, one sister-in-law Dorothy Davis of Fort Dodge, and many nephews and nieces.
She is also survived by five grandchildren: Jennifer (Steve) Longwell, Genya (Cory) Clemons, Telea (Brad) Wiener, Matthew (Sarah) Craft, and Michael (Hope) Craft and eleven great-grandchildren: Christopher (Brittany) Bogan, Nathan Bogan, Jeanette Longwell, Taylor Clemons, Ella Clemons, Kate Craft, Claudia Craft, Natalie Craft, Madeline Craft, Beau Craft, and Elijah Wiener.
Proceeded in death by her parents Art and Idella Davis, a son Alan, a brother Robert Davis, a sister Bernadine Randall, and a great granddaughter Aliysha Longwell.
Services will be held on Wednesday, January 16, 2019 at 10:30 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in State Center, Iowa with private family burial in Rose Hill Memorial Gardens.
