Bonnie Trowbridge, 85, formerly of Rhodes

Bonnie Trowbridge, 85, formally of Rhodes, passed away on July 29, 2017 at Grandview Heights Rehab and Healthcare. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, August 3, 2017 at 10:30 at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home. A public visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 2, held from 5-7:00 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made out to the Alzheimer’s Association Greater Iowa Chapter 1730 28th Street

Bonnie was born on July 1, 1932 to the parents of Elmer and Mary (Johnston) Jontz in Rhodes, Iowa. She was one of four children to be raised by Elmer and Mary. Bonnie attended the Rhodes School and was a proud member of the graduating class of 1948. On April 10, 1950 Bonnie was united in marriage to Paul Trowbridge in Rhodes. The two would make their lives together in Rhodes and the surrounding area. Bonnie loved her town and was very active in the Rhodes Betterment Committee, and the Rhodes Alumni. When she had a little free time Bonnie could be found in the bowling alley, working on puzzles, playing cards and walking around town. She loved to spend time with her family at reunions and with her grandchildren.

Left to cherish her memory are her children Doug (Vida) Trowbridge, Connie (Craig) Zabel, and Michael Trowbridge, grandchildren: Misti, Candi, Bryson, Nathan, Heather, and Dustin, and many nieces and nephews.

Bonnie is preceded in death by her husband Paul, parents Elmer and Mary, and siblings Eddie, Maxine, and Doris.
