Born on August 22nd, 1938, at Rhodes, Iowa, he was
the son of Harold and Opal (Hayes) Schoppe. He
graduated from the State Center High School.
On August 29th, 1959, he was united in marriage to
the love of his life, Norma Jean Hapes, in Nevada,
Iowa. Danny was employed in the field of his passion-
cars. He took care of the mechanical work of police
cars for the City of Marshalltown until his
retirement. Many problems of the world were solved
with him at the Hardee’s Coffee Club.
Mr. Schoppe was a proud collector of two-cylinder
John Deere tractors and loved to participate in
parades with them. The time with his family,
motorcycles, camping and traveling with Norma were
all equally important.
Left to cherish his memory is his son, Terry (Lori)
Schoppe of Cedar Falls and grandchildren Michaela and
Madison Schoppe.
In death, he rejoined his beloved wife Norma,
parents, brother Richard and sister Dorothy (Schoppe)
Barrett.
