Virginia Marie (Moody) Senter, 83, Sun City, AZ
Virginia Marie Senter (born, Moody), affectionately known as Ginny, departed this life on the morning of August 2, 2024, at the age of 83, in Sun City, Arizona.
Born to Ralph and Mabel Moody on February 21, 1941, in Marshalltown, Iowa, Ginny embraced a life characterized by unwavering faith, ceaseless optimism, and a profound commitment to her loved ones and friends. Her radiant presence brought comfort and joy to those around her, as she consistently uplifted others with her words of encouragement, infectious laughter, and heartfelt-selfless affection towards others. A native of State Center, Iowa, Ginny entered into holy matrimony, November 12, 1960, at the historic Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa. In 1975, she and her husband, Bill, relocated to Eau Claire, Wisconsin, where they continued to raise their daughter, Tammy. In the mid 1990s, they later moved to their dream home on the shores of Lake Wissota in Chippewa Falls. There, they resided for over 20 years before retiring to Sun City, Arizona. Ginny’s passion for the American heartland was rivaled only by her zest for exploration while riding a motorcycle with her husband and friends, and embarking on numerous voyages across the US and abroad, delighting in the discovery of lighthouses and the splendors of the world. Her hobbies included cooking – particularly baking & making homemade potato salad and homemade chicken noodles every holiday. She enjoyed craft shows with her daughter, the vintage car club activities with Bill and volunteering to work her church rummage sale event each year. Ginny relished in the fellowship of family reunions and the camaraderie spirited competition of card games with family and friends.
Her legacy endures through her devoted husband, William Senter; her cherished daughter, Tamara Senter, both of Sun City, Arizona; and her brother, Dale Moody, and his wife, Sandy, of Atlanta, Georgia. Ginny was preceded in death by her mother, Mabel Moody; her sister, La Donna Banks; her father, Ralph Moody, uncle Carroll Huff, Aunts; Doris Davis, Dottie Muench, Velma Arnold, and nephew, Phil Moody.
A service of remembrance and celebration of Ginny’s life will be held on the 22nd of August, 2024 at 1:00 PM (AZ Time) at Lakeview United Methodist Church in Sun City, Arizona. This service will be accessible via online broadcast for those unable to attend in person. (For online access, please text or call Tammy at 623-261-1686.) Ginny’s earthly remains will be laid to rest in September, 20, 2024 with a graveside service at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens in Marshalltown, Iowa, at 11:00 am where she will be interred with due solemnity. A reception will follow.
May her soul, through the mercy of God, rest in peace and her light continue to shine through all those who knew and loved her here on earth.
