Jeffery Brooks Sr., 63, State Center

Jeffery Brooks Sr. entered into eternal life June 3rd 2023 at 6:34 p.m. surrounded by his loving wife of 42 years, Deb Brooks , his daughter, Tressa Oetker and her children, Alyssa Oetker, Sophie Oetker, and Gavin Oetker, his son, Jeffery Brooks Jr., his wife Casey Brooks, their children, Calliope and Henry Brooks, and Deb’s brother, Craig Eckhart. Jeff Sr. was born January 12th 1960, son of Marie Lucielle Brooks in Des Moines Iowa. Jeff grew up in Des Moines with his 5 brothers and sisters whom he was the oldest of and caretaker of their family. He fought a struggling childhood and adversity always with the will to succeed. In his later teenage years he met his future wife, Deb Brooks (Eckhart), while they were both hanging out with friends at Gray’s lake in Des Moines. They began dating, later getting married. They welcomed their Daughter, Tressa, into the world and moved to the Eckhart family farm where they made a life together and had their second child, Jeff Jr. Jeff Sr. always worked hard for his family, first traveling for ACI mechanical in Ames. In 1990, after deciding he didn’t want to be away from his kids, he started working for Waldinger Corperation in Des Moines (which was just around the corner from Gray’s Lake). Jeff Sr. Also owned his own Heating and Cooling business, Brooks Heating. Some of my best memories with my dad are working with him on Brooks Heating. He taught me a lot about mechanics and fixing just about anything. We also enjoyed motorcycle and 4 wheeler rides as often as possible. We bought older bikes and fixed them up together to enjoy. He didn’t want me to own anything with an engine if I didn’t know how to work on it. Thanks Dad! Jeff Sr. Is survived by his wife, Deb Brooks (Eckhart), his daughter, Tressa Oetker (Thomas Oetker), his son, Jeffery (Casey) Brooks, and his grand children, Alyssa, Sophie, Calliope, Henry and Gavin. He is also survived by his brothers Scott Sibert, Rodger Sibert, Julia Sibert, and Ellie Sibert along with many nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews. Jeff Sr. is proceeded in death by his grandfather, Ralph Brooks, his mother, Marie Lucielle Wilson, and his younger brother, Steve Sibert.
