Scott Steiert, 57, Clive (formerly State Center)

Scott Steiert, 57, of Clive, Iowa and formerly of State Center, Iowa, passed away in the comfort of his own home on the evening of January 11, 2023.

A celebration of life for Scott will be held on Friday, January 20 from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home. Memorials in Scott’s name may be directed to the family for a later designation. Scott Bryan Steiert was born July 11, 1965 to parents James “Jim” and Janice “Jan” (Morningstar) Steiert in Marshalltown, Iowa. He grew up in State Center and attended school within the West Marshall Community School District. He graduated in the Class of 1984 and continued his education at Iowa State University. He later transferred to the University of Northern Iowa where he received his Bachelor’s Degree in 1989.

He was united in marriage to Sheila Hutchens. Together they had three children Kylie, Kolby, and Abby. They later divorced. He loved getting together and reminiscing with his family. Throughout his life, Scott enjoyed going golfing, spending time with friends and family, snow skiing, boating on Lake Okoboji, and going on camping trips.

He is survived by his children, Kylie (Dalton) Ferch, Kolby Steiert, and Abby Steiert; his grandchildren, Leighton Ferch, Lincoln Ferch, Landry Ferch, and Cohen Frakes; his parents Jim and Jan Steiert; and his brother Kurt (Christy) Steiert and their family.

He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Alfred and Pearl Steiert and Darrel and Margaret Morningstar.
