Robert Dale Braddy was born on September 27, 1941 to parents Vernon and Arlene (Nolta) Braddy in State Center, Iowa. He was the only child blessed to their family. He grew up and attended school in State Center.

On July 10, 1965, Bob was united in marriage to the love of his life, Paulette “Pat” Keoppel. Together they made a home for themselves in State Center and began a family of their own, raising their five children Laure, Brenda, Vernon, Beth and Tracy. Bob started his working career at his dad’s small dairy delivering milk. He then drove a semi, hauling bulls to Chicago for many years before joining Farm Service as a gas distributor. Lastly, he was employed by Campbell Oil, from which he retired in 2006.

Bob was an active member in the Vagabonds Camping Club and the Bull Haulers Association. In his free time, he was known to be a great storyteller and was famous for his “tall tales” that you never knew the direction of. He also enjoyed taking rides on his motorcycle, going camping, riding on the golf cart, hosting music festivals at the barn every year and having plenty of bowls of ice cream. He looked forward to going and spending his winters in Texas after retirement and had the privilege to host many foreign exchange students over the years.

Those left to remember and cherish his memory are his children: Laure (Jerry) Lanning of Melbourne, IA, Brenda (Mark) Haskell of Melbourne, IA, Vernon (Mindy) Braddy of State Center, IA, Beth (Martin) Sebok of Oklahoma City, OK and Kelli Green of Lee Summit, MO; his grandchildren: Julie (Brian Cross) Lanning, Alex Mason, Brandon and Tyler Haskell, Cody and Levi Braddy and Robert and Megan Sebok; his great-grandson Jace Dean Cross; and his godson, James Shaffer.

He is preceded in death by his wife Pat, his son Tracy, and his parents Vernon and Arlene Braddy.

Robert’s family would like to thank the staff of Grandview Heights Rehab and Healthcare for all the love and care they gave their dad over the years.
