Dennis “Denny” Bryant, 74, St. Anthony
Dennis “Denny” Bryant, 74, of St. Anthony, passed away on Saturday, February 5, 2022. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 19, 2022, at St. Gabriel’s Catholic Church, in Zearing, at 11:00 a.m. with Father Dagit officiating. A luncheon and visitation will follow at the Dakins Community Center in Zearing from 12:00 – 1:30 p.m. Burial in Lincoln Township Cemetery, in Zearing, will be held at a later date.
Denny was born in Eldora, Iowa on October 3, 1947, to Margaret (Reese) and Warren Bryant. He grew up in St. Anthony and attended school at West Marshall where he graduated with the class of 1965. Denny then enlisted in the U.S. Navy and traveled the world on the USS Newport News, serving his country for three years. After being honorably discharged he started work at Gianneto’s John Deere Dealership in Union, Iowa. Denny also did a short stint with the Railroad in Marshalltown. He then went to work with his uncle Larry Clark Construction. Denny married the love of his life Ann Votruba on July 20, 1974. They settled in St. Anthony to raise their family.
Denny became a Rural Mail Carrier spanning a 37.5-year career. Denny loved his job and all those he worked with.
He also was a metal specialist/scrapper for over 50 years, which he dearly loved.
Denny loved animals and walking his fur babies daily especially Sunny Bear, Mollie, and Fionna.
Denny loved his family and spending time with them and visiting with his many, many friends.
He loved working crossword puzzles, Mt. Dew, and visiting with friends.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Ann Bryant; children Angela (Jason Latimer) Billings of State Center, Iowa and Dennis (Elda) Bryant Jr. of Marshalltown, Iowa; grandchildren Juan (Lilli) Lara, Dennis Bryant lll, Katherine Bryant; great-granddaughter Camilla Lara; brothers Duane (Aileen) Bryant and Dean Bryant; special aunts and uncles; nieces and nephews; cousins; and many friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents.
