Wayne H. Schuler, 85, State Center

Wayne H. Schuler, 85, a longtime farmer near State Center, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 31, 2019, at Accura Healthcare in Marshalltown while under the care of the Iowa River Hospice. Cremation rites have been accorded and a Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 7, 2020, at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home in Marshalltown. Burial with full military honors will follow at the Rose Hill Memorial Gardens in Marshalltown. Friends may call from 1:00 p.m. until service time at the funeral home. Wayne Harlan Schuler was born on May 18, 1934 near State Center, Iowa to Harley and Phoebe (Fricke) Schuler. He grew up on the farm and graduated from the Clemons High School in 1952. Wayne faithfully served our country in the United States Army and was honorably discharged on April 1, 1959. Upon his return home, he continued his passion and continued to farm northeast of State Center until his retirement. In addition to farming, Wayne was very fond of hunting, fishing, bowling and having coffee with his friends.

Surviving are his siblings: Robert Schuler, Janet (Bob) Turner and Clifford (Kay) Schuler; two nieces and two nephews; eight great nieces and nephews and one great, great niece.

In eternal life, Wayne has been reunited with his parents.
