Lorraine Davis, 90, Clemons

Lorraine Davis, 90, of Clemons, Iowa, passed away on Tuesday, April 24, 2018 at the Iowa River Hospice Home.

Funeral services for Lorraine will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, April 27, 2018 at Mitchell Family Funeral Home with Pastor Craig Marshall officiating.

Public visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 26, 2018 at Mitchell Family Funeral Home where her family will be present to greet friends.  Memorial contributions may be directed in Lorraine’s name to her family.  For further information or to send a condolence please visit www.mitchellfh.com or call (641) 844-1234. Lorraine Davis was born on December 19, 1927 in Clemons, Iowa, the daughter of Roy V. and Bertha (Hoffer) Davis.  She was educated and later graduated from the Liberty Township High School.  Following high school, Lorraine went on to obtain her BA from the teachers college in Cedar Falls, Iowa.  Lorraine was united in marriage to John Davis on December, 19, 1948 in Clemons, Iowa.

She spent a few years teaching, working at State Center Manor and a majority of her life was spending time taking care of family, home and farm.  She was a proud member the Clemons United Church of Christ.

She has a passion for her kids, grandkids, great-grandkids and great-great grandkids, as well as, word puzzles, wheel of fortune and playing all sorts of games with her family.

Left to cherish her memory are her children: Duane(Kathy) Davis of Clemons, Susan (Donald) Clubb of Melbourne, Roy (Lorine) Davis of Clemons, Barb (Mike) Evertsen of New Providence, Mary Kennedy of Gates, North Carolina, Jamie (Todd) Weuve of State Center, Jim (Patti) Davis of Clemons, Bill (Rayleen) Davis ofGarrison and Margaret (John) Leland of Greenbrier, Arkansas; 47 grandchildren; 55 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren; one sister: Mina Mae (Bob) Sifrit.

She is preceded in death by her husband, John, parents; her in-laws; her great-grandchildren: Karleigh Hobart and Brant Saunders, son-in-law: Steven Weuve; and one brother: Vinton Davis.
