Margie Riemenschneider, 94, State Center

Margie Riemenschneider, 94, of State Center, passed away at Bickford of Marshalltown on Thursday, August 19, 2021. 

Per the wishes of Margie and her family, cremation rites have been accorded under the care of the Mitchell Family Funeral Home. A private graveside service will take place at a later date at Hillside Cemetery in State Center. For condolences, please visit www.mitchellfh.com or call 641-844-1234.

Margie was born on May 9, 1927 in Marshalltown, Iowa, the daughter of Harold and Ruhamah (Kepple) Buschbom. She attended State Center High School. Margie married Wayne Riemenschneider on May 21, 1943 and they were married for 64 years. She was a loving and dedicated partner and homemaker.

Margie belonged to the Delta Nu Study Club and also enjoyed playing cards with a Ladies Card Club. She enjoyed fishing at the family pond and family trail rides on horseback. Margie also liked playing 500 and was a competitive ping pong player. She enjoyed attending the many activities that her girls participated in. She and her husband, Wayne were avid travelers and spent 40 winters in either Texas or Arizona. 

Margie was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in State Center until 1950 and then she joined the First Presbyterian Church of State Center, which she attended with her family. 

She is survived by her three favorite daughters: Peggy (Bob) Johnson of Pocahontas, Terry (Gordon) Weber of Grimes and Becky (Mark) Riemenschneider of State Center; seven grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; three siblings: Deb (Tom) Smith, Linda (Jim) Bell and Robert Buschbom; and many nieces and nephews. 

Margie was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Wayne; her granddaughter, Brenda and her sisters: Evelyn Minnich and Ida Mae Bradley and their husbands.
