Lorraine Viola Montgomery, 80, of State Center passed away on May 12th 2015, in the care of Iowa River Hospice at Bickford Cottage in Marshalltown, Iowa.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm, on Monday May 18th 2015, at Mitchell Family Funeral Home. A luncheon will be served at the State Center Methodist Church following internment at Hillside cemetery in State Center, Iowa. Visitation will be held on Sunday, May 17th 2015, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be directed to the family to be designated at a later date. Lorraine Viola Henze was born on August 5th 1934, at the family farm, north of State Center Iowa, to Walter and Laura Henze. She grew up and attended State Center High School, graduating with the class of —-. On April 21st 1955 she and Robert “Bob” Montgomery were united in marriage in Cameron Missouri. The two, returned to State Center Iowa, to make their home and raise their children.
As a young woman, she worked at Wilburn dry cleaners in State Center, eventually running her own in-home daycare. Lorraine was active in the Girl Scouts of America. She loved West Marshall ball games, camping with her family, birdwatching with Bob, Playing dominoes with her granddaughter, and traveling to visit friends and family.
Left to cherish Lorraine’s memory are her children; Kevin (Mariela) Montgomery of State Center, Iowa, Kristi (Mark) Havens of Marshalltown, Iowa, grandchildren; Kayley and Breeanne. Brother in-law; Phillip (Linda) Montgomery of State Center, Iowa. Brothers; Glenn Henze of New Mexico, and Dale Henze of Marshalltown Iowa.
In death, she rejoins her parents; Walter and Laura, husband; Bob, brother; Dwight, mother in-law; Dorothy.
