LeAnn Knott, 61

LeAnn Knott, 61, of State Center, Iowa, passed away on the evening of Wednesday, March 1, 2017 at Story Medical Senior Care in Nevada, Iowa.

Funeral services for LeAnn was held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, March 7, 2017 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in State Center, Iowa with Father Rick Dagit officiating.  Public visitation was held from 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. on Monday, March 6, 2017 with a Vigil service at 7:00 p.m. also at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church.  Memorial contributions may be directed in LeAnn’s name to her family.  For further information or to send a condolence please visit www.mitchellfh.com or call (641) 844-1234.  Mitchell Family Funeral Home is caring for LeAnn and her family.

LeAnn Kay Fagen was born on December 30, 1955 in Perry, Iowa, the daughter of Richard Harris and Zelma (Krueger) Fagen.  She was raised and educated in the Perry School District graduating from High School.  Following high school, LeAnn went on to graduate from NIACC College with her associate’s degree in nursing.  On March 15, 1986, she was united in marriage to the love of her life, William Knott, in Denison, Iowa.

She was proud of her nursing background and felt very blessed to be able to help so many others.  LeAnn was most recently employed at the Iowa Veterans Home.  She was a member of Iowa Nursing Association and Sweepstakes of Central Iowa.  LeAnn had a passion for reading, sewing, quilting, gardening, and making Barbie clothing with her mother.

Left to cherish her memory is her loving husband: William Knott of State Center, IA; one daughter: Sarah Knott of New York City, NY and two sisters: Louise Fagen and Linda Toth both of Des Moines, IA.

She is preceded in death by her parents, and brother-in-laws John Toth and Terry Knott, and sister-in-law Gerriann Kozak.
